The impetus for writing this one was “I’ve seen it in your eyes, how I didn’t try”; and I’ll admit, there was a time that I didn’t try. It was a great idea of my producer Kevin Macmichael to use the Rickenbacker guitar; to me, it gives the song a real country feel. This song was one of the last to record and we had fun with the pause at the end of the second chorus.
lyrics
Well I see it in your eyes
How I didn't try
And knew it from the start
Looking back I see
It must have broke your heart
I’m gonna make it up to you
The stories that I told
And how I came to be
The one who played the part
Looking back I see
It must have broke your heart
I’m gonna make it up to you
I’m gonna make it all come true
I’m gonna bring you around
I’m gonna open up my heart
I’m gonna show you around
Your gonna wake up one fine day
Your gonna look at me and say
Well I see this man in a brand new way
Cause I’ve seen it in your eyes
How I didn’t try
And new it from the start
Looking back I see
It must have broke your heart
I’m gonna make it up to you
I’m gonna make it all come true
I’ll bring you around
I’ll pick you up
When your feeling down
I’m gonna open up your eyes
It’s going to take you by surprise
Cause you’ll feel my love
And you will know then why
I’m gonna make it up to you
Cause I’ve seen it in your eyes
How I didn’t try
And new it from the start
Looking back I see
It must have broke your heart
I’m gonna make it up to you
I’m gonna make the dream come true
I’m gonna make the dream come true
I’m gonna make the dream come true
No more breaking up
No more making up with you
No No
